Human Rights and Mental Health Institutions: Re-thinking systems of treatment, care and wellbeing.

On 26 – 28 February 2009, BALM organised a national workshop on ‘Human Rights and Mental Health Institutions: Re-thinking systems of treatment, care and wellbeing. The objectives of the Workshop were to bring together NGOs, government and funding agencies, mental health professionals, clients, care givers on one platform to discuss the issue of human rights in mental health institutions in India and come up with ‘refreshed and workable,’ systems /models that would ensure optimum levels of well being of clients along with restoration of human rights.
