Training programmes
The aim of training programmes is to increase the capacity of human resources in the mental health sector and to clarify specific roles of professionals in mental health care and provide appropriate training programmes.
The internal training are for mental health community workers, mental health nursing aides, and mental health professionals in The Banyan. The external training programmes are for Panchayat leaders, in order to build a community-based mental health system.
Short courses are regularly offered for internal and external audiences, such as mental health professionals, students, researchers, and activists. Internship and volunteer programmes are another instrument to build capacity. Internships at The Banyan and BALM aim at offering both a practical and theoretical learning experience in the field of mental health.
